When I first arrived in Greenville I thought it would be very difficult for me to fit in since I am from Madrid, a big city and Greenville is like the opposite of that, a really small town. But what I didn’t know was that the year that I was going to spend there was going to be one of the best experiences in my life!!

I wouldn’t know what to choose as my favorite thing, but if I had to do it, I would say the people were my favorite thing. They made my experience really easy, they helped me since the first day I arrived there. Even more, I made so good friends that some of them came to visit me all the way over to Spain.

What I liked the most too, was all the activities the school offers you. Which is a great opportunity to get to know the people and the culture better. I participated in the soccer team, as the manager because I am not a really good soccer player. I became part of the ski team (which was my favorite) and of the track team. The meetings were so much fun and I got to know people from other schools too.

But, in my personal opinion, the thing that makes me feel very special and “American” were the dances at the school. We don’t have those in Spain, and at the end of the year, I was so excited for prom. I have so many good memories of this day. We all dressed up like a princess and the boys like princes.

My experience in Greenville, as I said before, was one of the best of my life. That’s why I came back two following summers, to meet up my friends and feel again the American culture.

I found many things that I liked about Greenville. One of these was the incredible lake that they had in summer, and the incredible mountain in the winter, both less than 10 minutes away. On the other hand I also liked Greenville High School, where the gigantic welcome from students made it easy to make friends. I was involved in both the soccer, basketball, and ski teams, but would’ve liked to participate more if it weren’t for my injury preventing that.

To summarize, my experience in Greenville was amazing, I met many incredible people as well as places of which i will never forget.
