Get ready for the upcoming school year - Northern Light is hosting a Back to School Bash and Vaccination Fair in Dover-Foxcroft. The Maine Department of Education requires “all children enrolled in a public or private school” to have certain immunizations, depending on the child’s grade level. Attention 7th-11th Graders - All laptops, chargers, and cases must be collected later than June 13th. High schoolers will return theirs after their last final. 7th and 8th graders will turn theirs in before the end of the day on June 13th. You may turn them into Ms. Breau or the office. Thank you.

Please note the change in the 2023/24 GCS Calendar due to the addition of make up days. Friday, June 7 is a full day of school; the half day is reserved for the last day of the school year which is June 14.

Ms. Breau and Mr. Sherman recently accompanied middle school students to the annual Tech Camp - MLTI Student Conference at the University of Maine.
The Kindergarten students just finished a unit on Construction. The unit invited children to construct structures, measure and compare, and experiment with materials. Children were introduced to the engineering design process (ask, imagine, plan, create, improve). Throughout the unit the students constructed buildings, songs, dances, and stories.
Our game vs. Forest Hills scheduled for May 29th had to be moved at the direction of the MPA. The only date we had free in common with Jackman was Thursday 5/23. Because of some scheduling conflicts we will be playing this game at 1:30 pm. Students will be dismissed at 11:15 and the bus will leave at 11:30.
The one caveat to this change is we are waiting for umpire confirmation, but I wanted to get this notice out asap.
Today's middle school games will be played at Davis Field in Brownville.

Hello Greenville area, Jackman, Rockwood, Shirley, Monson and Guilford communities. The Greenville Consolidated School is hosting a community event featuring a presentation by Choices Matter and we are inviting you to attend! Choices Matter is a Nashville, TN based company that collaborates with the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety to provide life changing presentations to Maine students and young adults on making the right choices regarding drugs and alcohol. You will hear from a very powerful guest speaker who has personally been through life-changing decisions and how they affected his life. You will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive display including a driving simulator and impaired goggles. Our school had the privilege of participating in a similar Choices Matter presentation earlier this year and we highly recommend taking time to attend, you will not be disappointed.
